Miss Cal joins anti-gay activists and such as and so forth

Carrie Prejean has joined up with the National Organization for Marriage as part of a $1.5 billion national ad campaign that touts the right of Americans to share their opinion on gay marriage without backlash. “I encourage people to stand up for what they believe in and not be afraid,” Prejean said Thursday at the National Press Club in Washington. The 21-year-old was named the first runner-up to Miss North Carolina in the Miss USA pageant April 19. Her response to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton’s question about legalizing same-sex marriage may have cost her the title. “I was ready to be Miss USA that night on that stage, and I was faced with a very controversial question,” she said Thursday. “I had a choice to stand up for what I believe in or to compromise that for the tiara.” Prejean’s answer added fuel to the debate between conservatives and liberals about gay rights. This time, the battle is being fought online, where liberal bloggers have attack Prejean. “This is not about me. It’s about the future of marriage,” she said Thursday. “It’s about my children and my children’s children. It’s about me standing up for something I’m extremely passionate about.”

Miss California’s sudden activist interest regarding gay marriage is so shameless you almost have to admire it. But I thought the whole reason girls try to win pageants is so they can STOP whoring themselves out, not so they can start.–BEREZ

More from the Animal Kingdom: 8-yr old gets divorce

I get the Playstation, 50% of the video games and ALL the Hello Kitty stuff

I get the Playstation, 50% of the video games and ALL the Hello Kitty stuff

An eight-year-old Saudi girl has divorced her 50-year-old husband, who bought her hand in marriage for $13,000 last year. The divorce was reached through an out-of-court settlement that involved an undisclosed amount of money. The U.S.—a staunch ally of the oil-rich kingdom—has openly criticized the custom of child marriages as a blatant violation of human rights. The senior Muslim cleric in Saudi Arabia has defended the practice, saying that 10-year-old girls are mature enough to handle it, and that anyone who thinks otherwise is “doing the girls an injustice.”

I am so tired of kissing the asses of these oil whores. Can we please, please, please come up with an alternative source of energy so that we can finally spit in Saudi Arabia’s f*cking face!–BEREZ

This one goes to 11! Chrysler file for bankruptcy

I'm sorry... your big plan is to merge with who??!!

I'm sorry... your big plan is to merge with who??!!

WASHINGTON — Chrysler filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Thursday and announced it will temporarily halt most of its vehicle production while it completes a deal with Italian carmaker Fiat in an effort to revive the nation’s ailing third-largest automaker.
The Obama administration said it had long hoped to stave off bankruptcy, but it became clear that a holdout group of creditors wouldn’t budge on proposals to reduce Chrysler’s $6.9 billion in secured debt. Clearing those debts was a needed step for Chrysler to restructure by a government-imposed Thursday deadline.

Chrysler now has “a chance not only to survive but thrive” thanks to the deal with international car company Fiat and loans from the government, President Obama said Thursday. He said the company’s decision to file for bankrupcy “is not a sign of weakness,” but rather a necessary step that will allow the company to survive.

So Chrysler is claiming that merging with Fiat is not a sign of weakness??? That’s like pan-handling outside a homeless shelter and saying it’s not a sign of being broke and desperate.–BEREZ

Call grows to shut border.. by folks other than Lou Dobbs

Damn right! Keep those f*cking Canadians outta here!

Damn right! Keep those f*cking Canadians outta here!

When the U.S. sneezes, Mexico catches a cold — so goes the old saying that is ironically being turned on its head as all eyes look south, afraid that the U.S. may be infected by what appears to be Mexican swine flu. But while public health and government officials on both sides of the border battle the outbreak, a virus of another sort is spreading across the Internet as anti-immigration groups use the imminent flu pandemic as an argument for closing the U.S.-Mexico border.

“Americans want our borders secured now more than ever,” declared William Gheen, head of Americans for Legal Immigration. The North Carolina–based group is calling on the Obama Administration to shut down the southern border. “This latest in a series of health threats emanating from Mexico speaks loudly for border security, and the government’s failure to respond accordingly should be a wake-up call for all Americans,” Gheen said in a statement posted on the group’s website.

It’s so typical that these immigrant bashers would misuse a public health crisis like this to further their agenda. And make it more difficult for me to find decent lawn care!–BEREZ

Be advised! The threat level has been raised from "Quaking in your boots" to "Shitting in your pants"

GENEVA, Switzerland (CNN) — The World Health Organization on Wednesday raised its pandemic alert to 5, its second-highest level, warning of widespread human infection from the swine flu outbreak that originated in Mexico. Dr. Margaret Chan, the U.N. agency’s director-general, said the decision to raise the alert on the 6-point scale indicated that all countries should “immediately” activate pandemic preparedness plans.

“This change to a higher phase of alert is a signal to governments, to ministries of health and other ministries, to the pharm industry and the business community that certain actions now should be taken with increased urgency and at an accelerated pace,” Chan said. The announcement came as the number of confirmed cases increased rapidly across the world.

The WHO and national governments have confirmed 148 cases in nine countries. Most of those cases are in the United States, where the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed 91 cases.

U.S. body count to date?   One.  I’m just sayin’.–BEREZ

Arab prince shows U.S. a thing or two about torture

WARNING THIS IS VERY GRAPHIC VIDEO

WASHINGTON (CNN) — A videotape of a heinous torture session is delaying the ratification of a civil nuclear deal between the United Arab Emirates and the United States, senior U.S. officials familiar with the case said. In the tape, an Afghan grain dealer is seen being tortured by a member of the royal family of Abu Dhabi, one of the UAE’s seven emirates.

The senior U.S. officials said the administration has held off on the ratification process because it believes sensitivities over the story can hurt its passage. The tape emerged in a federal civil lawsuit filed in Houston, Texas, by Bassam Nabulsi, a U.S. citizen, against Sheikh Issa bin Zayed al Nahyan. Former business partners, the men had a falling out, in part over the tape. In a statement to CNN, the sheikh’s U.S. attorney said Nabulsi is using the videotape to influence the court over a business dispute.

And here's the scumbag out of his rags

And here is the scumbag out of his rags.

And the UAE is considered to be the friendliest and most civilized of the Arab states. Jesus Christ.–BEREZ

Obama:”I’m not a miracle worker.” (Wink, Wink!)

On second thought...

On second thought...

President Barack Obama laced his assessment of his first 100 days in office Wednesday with a healthy bit of hedging, buying himself some more time by reminding Americans of his limitations and the patience he hopes they have.

“I’m not a miracle worker,” he said during a town hall meeting here in suburban St. Louis high school. “We’ve got a lot of tough choices and hard decisions and hard work ahead of us.” Weaving in a dose of optimism, as he increasingly has as hopeful economic indicators have emerged in recent weeks, the president also identified “the light on the horizon” and, in a look back at a memorable line in his inaugural address, said Americans had begun “to pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off.”

But he repeatedly said economic recovery would take time. “You know that our progress has to be measured in the results that we achieve over many months and years, not the minute-by-minute talk in the media,” he told the friendly audience.

In a self-styled progress report, Obama used his opening remarks and often lengthy answers to audience questions to tick off what he had accomplished since he was sworn in on Jan. 20. But instead of offering an array of ambitious promises, as he did as a candidate, the president looked back as much as he did forward. On matters ranging from the economy to health care to closing down the military detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Obama noted “the changes that we’ve made are the changes we promised.”

Not a miracle worker? You’re 47 yr old black guy whose father was from Kenya. You beat the Clinton Machine for the Democratic nomination, then a war hero during a time of war for the Presidency. Your half-brother is in a sex-offender data base and to top it all off your middle name is Hussein. Hate to break it to you dude, but that was a f*cking miracle!–BEREZ

Sean Penns “Dear Jane” letter to wife, again

I mean honestly, whattaya want me to say?

I mean honestly, whattaya want me to say?

Sean Penn has filed for legal separation from his wife of 13 years, actress Robin Wright Penn. The couple’s had a rocky past: Penn filed for divorce in 2007 but later dismissed the suit. A few days later his 43-year-old wife filed for divorce, too. The couple appeared to reconcile last April, when they asked for the divorce petition to be dismissed, but Penn had fans whispering when he failed to thank his wife during his acceptance speech at the Oscars this winter. He later told Oprah Winfrey that he wanted to focus his speech on the film’s professional team. Penn won the Oscar for Best Actor for his starring role in Milk; this will be his second divorce—his first was from Madonna.

Celebrity marriages should usually be converted to dog years. One year equals seven. So for the best and most intense film actor in the world to have one last 13 years? To quote the great Jeff Spicolli; “Awesome!.. Totally Awesome!”–BEREZ

Mexican soccer games to be without fans… just like MLS

"Did all our fans get sick?"... "Yeah. They're sick of watching 1-0 finals."

"Did all our fans get sick?"... "Yeah. They're sick of watching 1-0 finals."

(AP) - Every professional soccer game in Mexico this weekend—176 matches in all divisions—will be played without fans in an effort to slow the spread of swine flu.The ban stretches from nine top division matches to 12 first division A games, 40 in the second division and 115 in the third. It is a giant step from last weekend when only three first division games were played behind closed doors.

To give fans something to watch, at least six top division matches will be available on free channels. Normally, those matches are seen only on pay-for-view TV.

The move by the Mexican Football Federation comes as a Central American youth basketball tournament was canceled Wednesday because of the swine flu outbreak in Mexico. FIBA Americas, the governing body of basketball in the region, said an under-16 tournament set for June 3-7 would be moved to a venue in Central America. It did not specify where.

The fear of swine flu is altering daily life in Mexico with almost everyone wearing masks, families hunkered down at home, and many restaurants selling only takeout meals.

Hey, maybe it’s easier to concentrate without tens of thousands of noisy fans screaming and cheering. At least that’s what the American teams have been telling themselves.–BEREZ

Source: Chrysler won’t liquidate… chooses to rust instead

Liquidating sounds pretty fancy. We'll just do it the old fashion way.

Liquidating sounds pretty fancy. We'll just do it the old fashion way.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — Chrysler LLC will not be forced to shut down, according to a source familiar with the automaker’s plans. But the embattled company may still wind up declaring bankruptcy.

“Chrysler will survive and avoid liquidation, whether that happens in or out of bankruptcy remains uncertain at this point,” a source familiar with the negotiations between Chrysler and the federal government told CNNMoney.com

Those negotiations are expected to continue, possibly right up to the government-imposed deadline of midnight Thursday, according two senior officials in the Obama administration.  The Treasury Department’s auto industry task force found in late March that Chrysler was no longer viable as a stand-alone company.

Show of hands… how many of you out there own a Chrysler?  Hmmm.  Ok, now how many of you even know somebody who owns a Chrysler? Just as I thought. This is the same kind of wishful thinking that made me start collecting laserdiscs.–BEREZ
